And all Rec centers are not created equal. I much prefer the one in Youngstown. First, there are no little kids running around. Also, the staff in Youngstown blends in better than the people at the Tallmadge Rec and don't make me feel as awkward. Also also, some dude was messing around on the treadmill next to me and it was pissing me off. At first I thought he was hitting on the lady next to him, but evidently they knew each other. Either way, he was a douche and annoyed me. If I can hear you being a jackass over my music, there's a problem with you.
Then, there are the machines. The treadmill at the Tallmadge Rec was kind of frightening. It felt like the tread was greased and I was afraid that I was going to slip and fall. Which would have sucked. A lot. It was also a very basic, no-frills kind of treadmill. Which is OK, I suppose, but it is not what I'm used to.
They did have two crazy machines that I tried. One was this half elliptical half bike thing that was amazing. It looked like this:
I liked it because I'm lazy and I got to sit down while also getting the benefits of an elliptical. There were settings where I could randomly do just my arms or legs on a higher difficulty setting. It was seriously awesome.
But it also cost me $8 to work out today, which I was not a fan of. You could argue that I pay $3,500 per semester to work out at school, but that would be stupid. Because I actually pay that for classes that I generally don't like. So suck it.
Treadmill for 50 varying the speed and incline, then the elliptibike (I just made that up) for 20. Wanted to do more, but most of the other ellipticals were crappy and made too much noise for my liking.
Breakfast:
1 FiberOne Waffle with sugar free syrup and butter
2 pieces of sausage
2 pieces of Turkey bacon
(this breakfast was not so good for me, maybe)
Lunch:
Weight Watchers Cherry Cheesecake yogurt
A bunch of unsalted peanuts
(I find it weird that I didn't eat more, especially after working out. But I didn't...)
Dinner:
Steak with A1
Sweet potato casserole
Cheesy pasta with broccoli and carrots
1 biscuit with butter and sugar free, imitation honey
And cake... German Chocolate. It was my mom's birthday cake.
Also a couple glasses of tea throughout the day and some water too. I've been feeling crappy. Frigging head cold.
See you tomorrow.
I've just stumbled across your blog. How often are you getting weighed? How did you get started with regards to your will-power? Any strategies that worked? I crave sugar... cannot seem to get through the day without it.
